A battle to the death had come.The knight and the princess fought with their lives.
They put their lives in jeapordy for the people of the town.
The battle was brutal.
Painful.
Bloody.
The knight fought with true honor.
The princess fought with her soul.
But something terrible happened.
The knight fought the enemy like a true warrior.
But he lost.
He died right there on the battle field.
The princess saw the life leave from the knights body as he fell.
She felt so much pain,
So much sorrow.
She turned around to the enemy and said these exact words:
"You have killed the love of my life , and now you will pay the price."
